Wa East: Hon. Razak Tachi Partners to Deliver Free Eye Care and Surgery to Over 500 Constituents

The life-changing medical outreach will directly benefit residents in Manwe, Bulenga, Baayiri, Kpaglaghi, Loggu,Kundugu, and Funsi.

The former two-term Upper West Regional Treasurer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Hon. Prince Razak Abdul Moomin Tachi, has partnered with West African Humanitarian Aid, and Friends Eyes to launch a comprehensive, free eye screening and surgery campaign in Wa East District.

The five-day humanitarian exercise is scheduled to run from July 16 to July 21, 2026, targeting over 500 constituents across several communities in the Wa East District.

The life-changing medical outreach will directly benefit residents in Manwe, Bulenga, Baayiri, Kpaglaghi, Loggu,Kundugu, and Funsi. And the areas for the screening of the eye cases include; All type of Cataract, Pterygium, All Strabismus and many more.

According to Hon. Prince Razak the constituents need only a valid National Health Insurance (NHIS) Card to access this service.

Speaking on the motivation behind this massive intervention, Hon. Tachi emphasized that securing the health of the people is the first step toward economic empowerment.

“As a proud son of Wa East, I deeply believe that good health is the foundation of everything. Many of our people are hardworking farmers and petty traders whose livelihoods depend heavily on their sight. By restoring and protecting their vision, we are protecting their families and their economic independence”. He noted.

“Many of our mothers, fathers, and youth are farmers and petty traders who rely heavily on their sight to earn a living and feed their families,” Hon. Tachi shared. “Giving them the gift of better sight is not just a healthcare intervention; it is about restoring their livelihoods, their dignity, and their independence.”

He added that clear vision is also crucial for civic engagement, enabling constituents to discern issues clearly and vote wisely for leaders who will actively lobby for and deliver sustainable developmental projects to the district.

While the initiative comes ahead of the upcoming political season, Hon. Tachi urged constituents to look beyond the lens of partisan politics and focus on the spirit of community service.

“This is not just a campaign gimmick,” Hon. Tachi stated. “This is the blueprint of a leader who genuinely cares, understands your pain, and is ready to serve you selflessly when given the opportunity.”

With parliamentary primaries on the horizon, Hon. Tachi’s consistent grassroots interventions have positioned him as a formidable and highly anticipated contender for the Wa East constituency seat once the NDC officially opens nominations.

For the people of Wa East, this medical outreach is only the latest in a long series of impactful interventions led by Hon. Tachi. His developmental footprint already spans critical sectors, proving his readiness to lead.

To combat water scarcity, Prince Razak Abdul Moomin Tachi has personally funded and successfully drilled mechanized boreholes in Kataa, Jeyiri, and Buffiamah and many other communities in the Wa east district.

Recognizing that education is the ultimate equalizer, he is currently spearheading the construction of a modern six-unit classroom block at Chawuli Falia and Kpaglahi, which is expected to be handed over by September,2026.

As the July 16 launch date approaches, excitement is building across the beneficiary communities. For many residents, Hon. Razak Abdul Moomin Tachi’s actions speak louder than words. They see in him a leader who does not wait for an official title to bring relief, but one who is already working tirelessly to build a brighter, healthier future for Wa East.
