TANDABOREE RESIDENTS UNHAPPY WITH GOVERNMNET FOR FAILURE TO CONNECT RURAL ELECTRIFICATION TO TANDABOREE

A Unit committee member at Tandaboree who spoke to the news team said that their community was neglected in the rural electrification project which was extended to several communities in the district in 2012.

The residents at Tandaboree, a farming community in the Wa West District said they are unhappy with the government for failure to connect their community to the rural electrification grid.

Sule Francis a Unit committee member at Tandaboree who spoke to the news team said that their community was neglected in the rural electrification project which was extended to several communities in the district in 2012.

Stating that, the electrification project could be a booster to businesses. He said residents trek several miles to adjoining communities such as Eggu and ASE to charge their phones and grind their flour to improve their livelihood.

He added several appeals made to the district authorities have not yield any results.

Vivian   Mwinba –ere , who spoke on behalf of the women in the Tandaboree said the lack of electricity in the community is affecting their children performance in school as school kids resort to using lamps and touch lights  to study in the night. She added that Women also walk several hours to adjoining communities to be able to access grinding mile.

She therefore appealed to the government through the Wa West District Assembly to extend the rural electrification to their community.
