What image will come to mind when you hear the name children’s park. The image of all sorts of playing objects like merry go round, see-saw, swings and many others will come to mind. Some of these can be found in the children’s park of the Wa Municipality in the Upper West Region.
Unfortunately, these play objects, despite not being many, are in a very deplorable state that children cannot enjoy using them. No parent or guardian would like the idea of allowing their ward to play with hazardous objects.
The environment of the children’s park is also not suitable for children as there are broken bottles, blocks and other things that can easily cause harm to these children.
A lot of kids love to play at the park but looking at its poor state, it is becoming a worry since it can cause more harm than good to the kids in the upper west region.
Some parents express their sentiments over the state of the children’s park, calling on the government through the Wa Municipal Assembly to renovate and replace some of the play objects.
The news team caught up with some children at the park and they called on the responsible authorities to come to their aid by replacing the play objects that are in a deplorable state.
All efforts made by the news team to speak to authorities concerning the deplorable state of the Wa children’s park proof futile.
