The Member of Parliament for Wa east constituency, Hon. Dr. Godfred Seidu Jasew has threatened that, the next NDC government will investigate and prosecute the Wa east district assembly leadership for the abandonment of the district assembly’s guest house which was generating revenue for the assembly and later burnt by fire.
“Go to the assembly, you know what is happening there, you hardly see the workers there, recently you saw that our guest house was carelessly abandoned, just because we failed to pay casual workers who normally will keep the grasses down, the whole place was bushy, so we lost that property like that, these are unacceptable’’.
“indeed, be rest assured that the next NDC government is going to institute investigations into why that happened, why we are losing our property like that’’.
The lawmaker further claimed that several assembly-owned vehicles were unlawfully auctioned off and that authorities had also embezzled assembly property. He emphasised that all these alleged criminal activities will be investigated by the next NDC government.
On Friday 26th April, 2024, a group calling itself Concern Youth and Elders of Wa East organised a press conference in Funsi the district capital and register their displeasure on why the District guest house was abandoned and later blistered.
Dr. Godfred is optimistic that he will retain his seat. According to the Member of Parliament, even in opposition he is executing more work than what the government is doing.
The legislature called on the electorates to vote massively for him and the NDC presidential flag bearer H. E. John Dramani Mahama come 7th December, 2024 to transform Funsi into a befitting district capital and the Wa east constituency as a whole.
