Upper West: Engineers & Planners takes over Black Volta Gold project

Founded in 1997, Engineers & Planners has built a strong reputation in mining and civil engineering across West Africa.

The long-dormant Black Volta gold project in Ghana’s Upper West Region are set for revival after Engineers & Planners (E&P), one of West Africa’s largest indigenous mining contractors, acquired full ownership of Azumah Resources Ghana Ltd.

Founded in 1997, Engineers & Planners has built a strong reputation in mining and civil engineering across West Africa.

The engineers and planners, who had recently become the exclusive proprietors of Azumah Resource Limited, took a unique approach to mark their ownership and engagement with the communities.

They organize a thrilling football match between the local communities situated within their designated concession areas. The event which was planned not only as a means of entertainment but also as a symbolic gesture of their desire to connect with the people of the Upper West Region.

Speaking at the short ceremony Mr. Owusu Ansah, the human resource director of Azumah said that the ceremony was to officially welcome the engineers and planners and to introduce their presence and objectives to the people.

The human resource director emphasised that Engineers & Planners has taken full control of Azumah resources based on legal documentation at the registrar general’s department.

Lawyer Wahid Bampuori- Iddrisu, Director of community relation of Azumah mentioned that Engineers & Planners might start mining after two years he explained.

Touching on their Cooperate social responsibility, lawyer Wahid Bampuori stated that, their Cooperate social responsibility will be enhance, adding that, E & P might spend about 100,000.000 dollars on development.

Naa Danyi Boniface, the chief of Nadowli-Kunchene on behalf of the chiefs of the area appealed to E&P to employ many youth in the area when they start mining.
