PAPU RESIDENTS CALLS FOR THE COMPLETION OF ABANDONED CHPS IN THEIR COMMUNITY

According to the residents, several appeals made to the District Chief Executive for the Nadowli/Kaleo hon. Katherine T. Lankono to help complete the facility have not yield any results.

The chief and people of Papu in the Papu electoral area in the Nadowli/Kaleo district have called on the district assembly authorities to complete the abandoned Community base planning and services (CHPS), which was started in 2016 by the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Some residents in an interview with the news team indicated that, whenever someone falls sick they have to move the person to Sombo, Nadowli or Jirapa for medical care, which they described as unfortunate.

According to the residents, several appeals made to the District Chief Executive for the Nadowli/Kaleo hon. Katherine T. Lankono to help complete the facility have not yield any results.

The community members hinted that they feel neglected since they are also Ghanaians and always exercise their voting right every electioneering year.

The Unit committee chairman for Papu electoral area, Mr. Wayne Joshua has also expressed disappointment over the abandoning of the CHPS zone. According to him the community has provided a temporal structure for the nurses to be using as they still wait for the completion of the new one.

Mr. Wayne Joshua therefore called on the Member of Parliament and the DCE for the district to come to their aid by completing the abandoned CHPS zone.
