The death has been reported of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) former Member of Parliament Daffiama – Busie Issah constituency hon. Mathias Asuma Puozaa.
According to a close family source, the retired educationist passed away at the age of 76 at the 37 Military Hospital in Accra while receiving treatment upon admission.
Puozaa Mathias Asuma is a Ghanaian politician and member of the 6th Parliament of the 4th Republic of Ghana representing Daffiama/Bussie/Issa constituency of Upper West Region of Ghana.
He was first elected into office in the 2004 general election and became a Member of Parliament in January 2005 in the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
He had a run of three terms in office and left office in January 2017. While in Parliament, He was the chairman of the parliamentary select committee on education.
Asuma was born on 10 January 1948. He is an indigene of Touri-Daffiama, a town in the Upper West Region of Ghana. He is an alumnus of University of Edinburgh, Scotland where he obtained his Master of Science degree in Community Education.
The bereaved family is yet to announce details of his funeral arrangements.
