A humanitarian organisation based in Kalba in the savannah region called Hichale, has constructed and handed over 5 new hand pump boreholes to 5 communities within Kalba.
The beneficiary communities include Kelleyiri, Kporiju Primary school, Kohiitee, Bugal and Bebeyiri.
Mr. Emmanuel Dery Kuusani the Managing Director of Hichale in an interview, told Pulung News that the provision of clean water was not only essential for individuals, but crucial for the beneficiary communities.
He said the objective was not just providing water, but to ensure easy access to clean water that was safe for various household uses like cooking, washing, and general sanitation purposes.
Dery Kuusani also stated that access to quality water was key in any poverty alleviation strategies which would help the people to effectively undertake their activities to support themselves and their families.
He hinted that the donation was in fulfilment of their quest to improve the accessibility of clean water by rural dwellers within the Kalba enclave.
The project he said seeks to provide underground water to over 2000 beneficiaries in the communities.
According to the Managing Director, HiChale remains committed to providing interventions that will help alleviate the suffering of the most neglected people and communities.
In acknowledging Hichale financiers Mr. Kuusani emphasize that, the main funders of HiChale projects are their German Partners: Aktionskreis Pater Hagen Association, which is into the collection of paper and used clothing to raise funds and Ruet n Rock Association, which organises musical events to also raise funds to support their projects.
Mr. Kuusani used the opportunity to call for more donors and collaborators to enable them to expand their reach and impact.
The beneficiary communities expressed their excitement over the kind gesture by HiChale NGO, indicating that Hichale came at the right time to rescue them after so many years of battling with animals at the streams in search of water.
