Residents of Funsi, in the Wa East District of the Upper West Region, are thrilled that the government, through SOCO, is starting development on an o.6-kilometer road of the area. For years, they have struggled with the terrible road from Muliabe to Funsi main Bus station.
Residents of the beneficiary electoral area are excited about the positive impact the road construction will have on their lives.

Some of the locals claim that although they used to record accidents and floods whenever it rained, they might not face flooding going forward now that the road is being worked on.
The residents also say the road has already eased movement even before the project completion. The residents said the ongoing works have greatly improved movement in the area.
The improvement is good for the electoral area, according to Hon. Dumah Yussif Sampuo, the assemblyman for Funsi South. Everyone was impacted by the poor state of the road, especially women and children.

“The road was in its worst state. I cannot quantify the benefits we will get once construction is completed,” he said.
The first phase of the road is completed awaiting the second phase of tarring to commence. Hydronomics Ltd. is the contractor working on the project.
