The chief and residents of Charingu community and its environs in the Wa Municipality of the Upper west region are calling on the Government to come to their aid on developmental projects.
According to the residents, their livelihood is characterized by the lack of potable water, poor educational facilities, and bad roads.
They disclosed to Upper West PR tv news crew that, poor road network has become a major challenge to them; however the area is one of the areas which produces the region’s food stuffs.
They emphasized that, they haven’t set their eyes on their MP after election and they are fed up with unfulfilled promises, saying the government must come to their aid.
The chief Imam for the area Malam Husein Iddrisu is worried about their situation. According to the chief imam it will be very difficult for the people of Charingu community to accept any politician in during election.
The Unit committee member for Charingu, Mr. Jabril Alansani is bitter over the treatment given to them by politicians he said ‘’Sometimes we organize a communal labour or use our pocket monies to fill potholes on the roads before our famers and school children can ply on it.
He added that, when his wife was in labor they nearly lost the baby due to the deplorable nature of the road from Charingu to Wa Municipality.
